I'm still around, things have been extremely busy. A real post will be coming soon. Until then:
How was everyone's holiday?

I know I am going to sound really whiny in the next few lines, but, bear with me:

Saturday: Gardened with the family. Then, I went to Barnes and Noble with Yara and spent 1 and 1/2 hours searching for one book. Long story.

Sunday: My bike gets stolen

Monday: My former principal died unexpectedly from a heart attack. He was 56, just five years older than my dad. He was in such good shape, though. I have no idea why life is so unfair.

Whine away dear niece.
What book?
I had heard about your bike. Sorry that happened. Maybe you'll get it back.
I am so sorry about your former principal. Unfortunately, sometimes these things just happen.
You know I'm here for you anytime you need to whine. Can't promise I can always reply promptly but I am here!

We had a big cookout Sunday. Or was it Saturday? I don't remember. Mariska and Vincent and Chris M. came by, it was great. Half the Italians in New York were there, but I still haven't figured out who was minding the meth lab at the time. We would have invited you, but I think if I had started seeing double and had seen you I might have been a wee bit confused. I live in upper Manhattan though, so anytime you want to come serve a search warrant or get coffee, you know where to find me.

Annabella my buddy!! Sounds like you had fun. A cookout would've been way more fun than working. Confused huh? Yeah, I've had a couple of people tell me I resemble you. I just don't see it though. ;)
Coffee sounds good, I may drop by one day for a cup.

Holiday? There was a holiday?

Oh yes, now I vaguely remember hundreds of people coming into my store and saying "Oh you have to work all day? That sucks, it's GORGEOUS outside!"

Because, you know, I can't see through the GLASS WINDOWS.

:-)

Thanks Janice. Not sure if I'll be able to make it up to you though. :)

Ames-Sorry you had to work. Maybe they just thought you were too busy to look out the window?

It was just OK. Nothing special. An off day anyway. One sort of ironic note: I spent much of the day watching the Law & Order Criminal Intent marathon on USA Network.

Also....is it true that Detective Fontana is transferring out?

Marty-Yeah, he is leaving, I've only heard rumors as to the reason though. As soon as I know anything positive I will let you know.
