Because I feel like being silly...

I just came across these and they were funny so I thought I would share. Everyone may have seen these already. What can I say, I'm slow!

Top 10 reasons to go to work naked:

10. Your boss is always yelling, "I want to see your butt in here by 8:00!"
9. Take advantage of computer monitor radiation to work on your tan.
8. Inventive way to finally meet that hunk/babe in Human Resources.
7. I'd love to chip in, but I left my wallet in my pants.
6. To stop those creepy guys in Marketing from looking down your blouse.
5. You want to see if it's like the dream.
4. People stop stealing your pens after they've seen where you keep them.
3. Diverts attention from the fact that you also came to work drunk.
2. Gives bad hair day a whole new meaning.
And the number one reason:
1. No one steals your chair.

Dinner with the DA

Yes, I know it's EADA, but DA sounded better in the title.
Let's see, where to start? Fortunately, the rain subsided long enough that we didn't get soaked. He arrived on time with flowers in hand. I didn't even know guys still did that kind of thing. This little guy was holding the flowers:

How cute is that? We went to Abboccato which is to die for. You know how much I like Italian food, right? Well this place was the best I have had, ever. Of course at those prices it should be good. Anyway, the food was wonderful, the atmosphere was relaxed, and my dining partner was darn near perfect. He opened the doors for me and held my chair for me. *sigh* Conversation flowed smoothly. He told me of a case where he beat the double-jeopardy law. It was fascinating. Listen to me going on like a little schoolgirl. He has such a colorful reputation though and I don't want to become just another notch on his bedpost. I know people do change, still I haven't had the greatest of luck in relationships. I worry way too much. I haven't spoken to him since. Sunday is never a good day for me and yesterday...thanks to some unknown vandals...yesterday was too eventful to think about anything except the situation at hand.

Okay, so he should be here in about an hour. We are going to a very nice Italian place. His idea too, I wonder how he knew I loved Italian??
I talked to Mike few minutes last night. He was kind of grouchy, but I would be too if my power had been out. I offered to let him stay here if it goes out again. I told him about my date, he didn't have much to say about it. I'm sure I'll hear about it when he is feeling more like himself.
Anyway, I have to finish getting ready, I just had to kill some nervous energy so I thought I would sign on for a couple of minutes.

!?!?

Mr. McCoy asked me to go out for dinner tomorrow night. I said yes. Now I got to find something to wear. And why am I so nervous? We had coffee together, twice, so it's not like I've never been out with him. I guess it's just different. At least it has taken my focus off of other things. I will let everyone know how it goes. Maybe. Unless it goes badly. GAAHHH!!!!

I have been extra emotional this week. Poor Logan, I'm either crying or biting his head off, I'm sure he is ready to string me up or something. These cases really get to me sometimes. I have been seriously considering a career change. Maybe I just need to take some time off again. I try to not let things get to me but lately, EVERYTHING is getting to me. Part of it is a personal issue that I am having trouble dealing with. Well not really having trouble dealing with it, just having trouble continuing my game of avoidance and denial. It's okay, I'll be better soon. I hope everyone can bear with me for a little while then I should be back to myself again.

I have a never ending stack of paperwork on my desk. I know I am doing some of it but you can't tell by looking at the stack. It looks like my desk threw up. Oh well, it'll get done eventually.
I dropped in on court again today. I got to see McCoy in action for a few minutes. He is very good at his job. I'm glad I don't have to spar with him! I sat in the back and left before the session ended so he didn't see me.
I stopped in to tell Elliot hi too, but he wasn't around so I went back to attack the paperwork mountain. (I waved at Munch on the way out)
I guess that is about all that has been going on. Right now I am watching my favorite baseball player, trying to relax for a while. And I just lost my train of thought so I should probably go. Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend.

Java with Jack, the sequel

Yes, I did meet him for coffee. Yes, I had a nice time. I could see myself spending more time with him. He is very intelligent which is a quality I do enjoy. I had a few spare minutes today so I stopped by the court house to see him in action. Unfortunately he wasn't in court today. Oh well, I'll try again another day.

Oh in case I forget: Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

To go or not to go?

That is the question...
You're probably wondering what I'm talking about. This is the message I got yesterday:

Hello, Detective Barek, this is Jack McCoy, we had coffee the other day. I wanted to let you know I enjoyed your company and that we should do it again sometime. I was thinking of stopping for a cup at lunch tomorrow, around 12:30. Hope to see you then.

So, like I said: To go or not to go?
He seems nice enough and he is a great lawyer. On the other hand I have heard stories about his, shall we say conquests...
I wonder if I need to call him back or just show up? If I don't call him back then I can chicken out at the last minute. I just don't know. Eh, it's only coffee, right? Okay I'm going...I think.

Blah blah

Not a lot going on other than work and I'd rather not write about work so that leaves little to talk about. I haven't talked to Munch in weeks although someone left me another song on my voice mail, it could have been him. Who knows!? I haven't really talked to anybody in a few days. I guess I'm in a hermit phase right now. I have a new movie to watch though, I'll do that in a few days, that should give me something to talk about. It is Firewall with Harrison Ford, whom I LOVE! If anyone has seen it, is it any good?

Java with Jack

I was enjoying a cup of coffee yesterday when a man asked if he could join me. Turned out to be the infamous ADA Jack McCoy. As we were talking I mentioned our little blog world here and told him he should start one too. You know being a lawyer and all he probably has some interesting thoughts. It took charm mixed with out right flirting, but I finally managed to convince him to try it for a little while. I mean if he doesn't like it he can always stop, right? Anyway, the point is, go over and tell Mr. McCoy hi.
